Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
1. Who we are
Plate Printer is provided by Plate Plug UK Ltd ("we", "us", "our").
You can contact us about privacy matters at
ppuksupport@gmail.com.
2. What personal data we collect
- Account details: your email address, business name (if provided), and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password).
- Usage data: registration plate designs, dealer text, logos, and print presets you create and save within the app.
- Payment data: if you subscribe via Stripe, Stripe processes and stores your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We retain only your subscription status and Stripe customer/subscription reference IDs.
- License key data: if you redeem a license key (e.g. purchased via eBay), we record which account redeemed it and when.
- Technical data: IP address and request timing, used only for security purposes such as rate-limiting login attempts.
3. Why we process your data, and our legal basis
- To provide the service (performance of a contract) — creating your account, letting you use the plate printer, processing your subscription.
- To keep the service secure (legitimate interest) — rate-limiting, fraud prevention, blocking abuse.
- To communicate with you (performance of a contract / legitimate interest) — password reset emails, service notices.
4. Who we share data with
We use the following third-party processors, each of whom only receives what they need to do their job:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and subscription billing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Render Services, Inc. — application hosting and our database infrastructure. See Render's privacy policy.
- Our email provider (used only for password-reset emails) — sending password reset emails.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. International data transfers
Some of our processors (including Stripe and Render) may process data outside the UK/EEA.
Where this happens, we rely on their respective compliance with UK-approved transfer
mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your data
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active, and for a
reasonable period afterward (typically 12 months)
in case you wish to reactivate, and to meet any legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention
obligations. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 8).
7. Cookies
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is
strictly necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled while
remaining logged in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we've mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ppuksupport@gmail.com.
9. Security
Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text), connections are encrypted via HTTPS,
and access to the admin area is restricted to authorised accounts only. No system is
perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your data.
10. Children
This service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
updating the "Last updated" date above.
